CAA invites applications for three new Trustees

Interested in becoming a Trustee of the Commonwealth Association of Architects?

Invitation to become a CAA Trustee

The Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) seeks three new trustees and invites applications from individuals with demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • International development
  • Fund raising and grant applications
  • UK charity law and governance

The CAA is a registered UK charity and is an accredited Commonwealth association whose members represent national associations of architects. Its mission is to maximise the contribution of architects to the well-being of society. For further information about our work see www.commonwealtharchitects.org.

Applicants should be Commonwealth citizens with an interest in supporting CAA Council as it works to deliver its 2024-2030 Strategy with a focus on advocacy, capacity building and climate action among academia, practitioners and policymakers. The strategy will support its member organisations that are grappling with a range of challenges including climate change and rapid urbanisation.

As a small charity with a big agenda, we are keen to build a diverse Board of Trustees with the capacity to better support us in our work. ‘We welcome applicants from any background regardless of their disability, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, transgender status, age, religion or beliefs.  The successful candidates will become members of a five-person Trustee Board whose current responsibilities also include submissions to the relevant UK authorities.

Please note that the role is not remunerated and that the time commitment will rarely exceed four hours per month. Applicants are invited to submit expressions of interest by using the button below. The closing date for applications is 12:00 noon BST on Wednesday 31 July 2024.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the CAA Executive Director, Mr Jacob Mwangi, at Jacob.mwangi@commonwealtharchitects.org.
